Bookmarks can be given nicknames for quick access. The nick is assigned in the Bookmarks Editor. When the nick is entered in the Open URL dialog or in the location entry field, is expanded to the full URL automatically. So, Galeon could be configured so simply typing in gal could load http://galeon.sourceforge.net.
